BossPrefs

This native iPhone app started as an offshoot of "Services" by Chris Hoffman. The app expands on services by adding some more options and focusing on being a complete preferences replacement. After installing BossPrefs? you should be able to remove Customize, SMBPrefs, and Settings icons from your desktop. With the new dock, you can add any icon you want to the dock. Also, bossprefs has a plugable interface so you can create a plugin for any app you want to toggle yourself.

Changes 1.73

• Fixed issue where poof and power icon don't show up if you don't have any other icons in your dock and never did (worked fine if you had some then deleted them).

• Added ability to rearrange the dock icons including the internal ones so that they are not always stuck at the front.

• Fixed a bug reported by Brooke at AppleiPhoneSchool.com where if you go to poof then to power, power is still showing poof.
• Updated the GUI for the power screen. The respring button now says "Respring Lock". This is the same as the "Lock" app also so you can uninstall that if you have it. I will look into a proper lock app in the future.

Changes 1.69

• Integrated "Poof" into the dock as a button called "Hide Icons". The actual Poof App can be uninstalled if you want.

  To use Poof features, just tap the "hide icons" button then tap apps to hide from springboard. To show them again, tap the "hidden" button and delete the apps to show. Simple! Note: hidden apps are not restored if bossprefs is uninstalled so make sure you unhide your icons first.

• Added an internal dock icon called "Power" that lets you quick respring, respring, reboot, and power off. So you can uninstall any sort of power management / respring apps if you want!
• Added support for poof hidden icon rehiding. This means after you do an update of a hidden app in installer or cydia, and the icon is back on spring board, just load bossprefs and close it immediately and it will rehide all your icons again.
• Added a config toggle to show and not show built in Poof and Power icons on dock. Default is to show them.

• Added toggle for "compat phone toggle". When OFF uses the faster nicer one that only works with non-contract carriers for the phone toggle. When ON, uses airplane mode + wifi on.
• Updated GUI so when airplane mode is enabled, wifi switch is disabled.
• Hopefully last update for airplane / phone toggles.

• Fixed issue with cooperability with Categories. On 1.61 if you ran "fix permissions on userdir" your categories apps no longer could hide icons. The problem is solved on 1.62 but the damage is not undone. You will need to empty and recreate your categories to fix (sorry).
• Upped limit of dock icons from 20 to 80 (you guys know the dock scrolls, right?).

Changes 1.61

• Made it impossible to add BossPrefs own icon to its dock. Doing this hides BossPrefs without a way to launch it. Thanks to the users that did this for pointing out the possible issue.

• Dock Icons - Add/remove icons from the dock (icons button before).
• Fix User Dir Permissions - For 1.1.3/4 Ever had a 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 jailbreak where your mail app crashed? Or your notes.db wouldn’t save? Or your safari cookies wouldn’t save? Or you installed some SummerBoard themes from installer (Skylar fix your themes) and the icons won’t work? Just run this and it should fix these issues. You can run it each time you encounter it over and over again..
• Springboard Screenshot - 1.1.3/4 There is an app to do this on some obscure repository. Now it’s in BossPrefs. As of 1.1.3, springboard has built in the ability to take screen captures. Just hold home and toggle the silence switch. The screen flashes white, and a new picture is added to your camera roll. It does not take up any resources and never needs to be disabled.
• BossPrefs to Doubletap Home - 1.1.1 or newer. Lets you set BossPrefs to double tap home key. Why would you want to do this you ask? First, it’s a good way to bring up the toggles quickly. But more importantly, if you ever have a problem where you get no icons on your springboard due to some app, you can double tap home, load BossPrefs, and use its icons on the dock to solve your issue without a restore. Great way to bail yourself out of a problem.
• Show Free Disk Space - There is no way to view disk space without typing in terminal. This shows your free disk space. I may incorporate some BossTool style logic here later.
• Added about button that shows changelog and some help with usage (this page).
